Shahi Wins All-In Showdown, Almost Without a Showdown

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action picked up on the turn with about 4,500 in the middle. Heads up, two players looked at the {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} board.

Arash Shahi's opponent bet 2,200 from out of position. Shahi raised to around 7,500. His opponent quickly bet about 22,000 and Shahi immediately went all in for less.

Shahi's opponent didn't realize his all-in bet was for less, so he mucked his cards. They didn't quite touch the muck, though, so because it was an all-in showdown, they were retrieved and turned over.

"I can't win," said the opponent.

Arash Shahi: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}

Cards up or down, Shahi was winning the pot as he had his opponent drawing dead. The river {j-Diamonds} only made it official.

Action started on the river. Will Kassouf was heads up with his opponent looking at a board of {6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

Kassouf had just bet 2,500 and his opponent was thinking.

"If you show, I'll show," said Kassouf. "I've got the best hand," he added.

After about a minute, his opponent folded.

"You don't want to show?" asked Kassouf as his opponent mucked. "Fine, I'll show anyway," as he flipped over {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. "Nine-high like a boss," he said.

Trips for the Takedown

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

With five players preflop and around 3,000 in the middle the flop came down {q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. The small blind bet 1,200 which had Kelly Minkin, the hijack and Adam Brownstone on the button all calling.

Another 1,200 bet from the small blind when the {3-Spades} turn showed up had Minkin folding while the two remaining players made the call.

An {a-Hearts} showed up on the river and the small blind bet 2,400, once again receiving a call from both the hijack and Brownstone. The small blind flipped over {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw, leaving him with jack high. The hijack showed {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} for queens and fours and Brownstone showed the winner, {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for trip fours to take down the multiway pot.

Castagnini Goes for It All on the River

Level 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Action began on the river with two players battling for about 15,000 in the middle. The full board showed {5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

Maximiliano Castagnini was in position and saw his opponent bet 10,500 into him. After thinking for about 30 seconds, Castagnini slid out his entire stack of 27,000.

His opponent tossed his hands up. He was trying to fugure out just what Castagnini could have. Eventually, he laid it down and tapped the table, conceding the pot to Castagnini.
