The World Series of Poker is host to plenty of events with deep and rich history, with returning champions regularly attempting to defend their titles. The new home for the series at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas has seen many events with record-breaking field sizes and prize pools. Event #78: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em, however, will not be one of those, because it's all new!

One player has a chance to be the inaugural bracelet winner for this brand-new tournament, cementing their place in World Series of Poker history. This three-day event starts at 3:00 p.m. local time, and will allow for plenty of early, deep-stacked poker.

Players will have 35,000 chips to begin their journey to their own estimable bracelet, 350 big blinds to start the day. With 40-minute levels on Day 1 and 60-minute levels on Days 2 and 3, players will find plenty of maneuverability and time to build a stack throughout the tournament.

Registration is open through Level 9 (about 9:45 p.m.) and players who bust have the option of one reentry. They will play 15 full levels, with breaks after every three, before bagging and tagging their chips for the night.

Eidebakk Starts Off With Rockets

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Action started with Daniel Smiljkovic four-betting from under the gun to 1,500. In the cutoff, Even Eidebakk five-bet to 4,700. Smiljkovic called and the two were off to a large, early pot.

With nearly 100 big blinds in the middle, the flop came out {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Eidebakk continued for 2,300 and Smiljkovic went for the check-call.

Both players checked the {k-Clubs} turn and {10-Clubs} river, seemingly content with the size of the pot.

Smiljkovic showed {j-}{j-}, but Eidebakk rolled over {a-}{a-} for the better overpair and the winner.

Strong Start for Caris

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Charles Caris raised to 400 from early position and got three-bet to 800 by John Fields. Halley Lewis on the button smooth called and Caris did as well.

The flop came down {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Caris checked to Fields who bet 1,200. Lewis responded by raising to 5,000 to which had Caris calling and Fields folding.

On the turn came a {2-Clubs} and Caris checked to Lewis who moved all in. Caris snap called and cards were on their backs.

Halley Lewis: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Charles Caris: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Lewis' overpair was losing to Caris' set of tens but with one more card to come, he still had a chance. The {8-Clubs} was not the card he needed and he was knocked out of the tournament. "See you when I rebuy!" said Lewis as he walked away.

Wong Runs Down Kings

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Alan Wong three-bet from the button to 1,200 over a middle-position raiser. His opponent in the small blind four-bet to 4,100. Action folded back to Wong who made the call.

The flop showed up {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Wong's opponent led for 3,300 and Wong made the call.

The turn was the {a-Spades}, Wong's opponent slowed with a check. Wong bet 5,000 and was called.

On the {q-Clubs} river, both players checked.

Wong saw his opponent roll over {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}, but he had that bested with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for the winner.
