Vogelsang Calls Faris' Bluff

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Christoph Vogelsang raised to 2,000 in the cutoff and Joshua Faris defended from the big blind. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Faris check-called a bet of 2,300 from Vogelsang.

The {k-Spades} paired the board on the turn and both players checked to the {5-Clubs} on the river. Faris led out with a bet of 4,500 and Vogelsang gave it some thought. After a minute, the German called and Faris showed {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw. Vogelsang also missed his flush with {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} but his ace-kicker was good enough to win the pot.
