Jaffee Counterfeits Wang

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jared Jaffee raised it up from under the gun and Yang Wang defended from the big blind. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Wang checked to Jaffee who continued for 6,000. Wang check-raised to 18,500 and Jaffee called.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Wang fired out a bet of 38,500. Jaffee still called and the {q-Clubs} paired the board on the river. Both players checked and Wang tabled {10-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a counterfeit two pair. Jaffee showed {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and his nine played to take down the pot.

Davies Doubles

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Seth Davies raised to 5,000 on the button and Vikenty Shegal raised in the small blind to 20,000. Davies then quickly moved all in for 53,500 and Shegal called, putting Davies at risk.

Seth Davies: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Vikenty Shegal: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Spades} which gave Davies a set of tens to scoop the pot for a double up.

Gathy Gets Turned to the Rail

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Aram Oganyan opened to 5,500 in the hijack and Michael Gathy pushed all in for 15,000 on the button. Zak Lawson reraised to 30,000 from the big blind and Oganyan responded by shoving all in as the big stack. Lawson thought for well over a minute but decided to lay his hand down.

Michael Gathy: {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Aram Oganyan: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The flop fell {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} and Gathy took the lead with a pair of tens. However, the {a-Hearts} landed on the turn and Oganyan took control with a pair of aces. The {8-Spades} on the river was a brick and Gathy was eliminated.

Green Lays it Down

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a heads-up pot worth around 50,000, the flop was {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades} when Brian Green in the big blind led out for 13,000.

His opponent in the cutoff, Oliver Bosch, immediately moved all in for 48,500, and sent Green into the tank.

After several minutes of deliberation, Green reluctantly let it go and the pot was pushed Bosch's way.

Classic Cooler for Yea

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Under-the-gun Steve Yea and button Nicholas Danias got it all in preflop, with Danias at risk.

Nicholas Danias: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Steve Yea: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

In this classic cooler, the board ran out {j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} with no help to Yea so Danias won the pot for a big double up. Yea was then left with 12,000 but fortunately he doubled up the next hand with his {k-Clubs}{8-} winning versus his opponents {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz was one of the late entries into the field for the start of Day 2 but has already run up an above-average chip stack. After an early raise to 5,000 from Gregory Jensen, Katz three-bet to 21,000 on the button. Jensen four-bet shoved all in and Katz called off his stack of 90,500.

Cary Katz: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Gregory Jensen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Katz's pair of queens held on for another early double-up.

Altman Can't Hold On

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

After a raise to 5,000 from under the gun, Brian Altman ripped all in for around 30,000 on the button. There was a brief deliberation but eventually, his opponent called.

Brian Altman: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Altman was now looking to avoid any further clubs. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn was safe but it was the {10-Clubs} on the river that sent Altman to the rail.

Big Blind Special

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

On a completed board of {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, it was heads- up action between the two blinds. Joey Weissman checked to Landon Tice in the big blind, who then put out a healthy bet of 22,000.

Weissman thought about it for a short bit but ultimately decided on a call, only to be shown {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for a rivered straight from Tice to take down the pot.
