John Evans Eliminated in 8th Place ($9,391)

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
John Evans
John Evans

John Evans: {x-}{x-} / {j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades} / {x-}
Kenny Hsiung: {x-}{x-} / {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Spades} / {x-}

Kenny Hsiung opened and John Evans raised. Hsiung re-raised and the two got their remaining stacks in. Evans had started the day as the short stack with just 170,000 but was ahead with {j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for split jacks against the {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} of Hsiung.

By sixth street Hsiung had improved to a pair of queens, and turned over the {10-Diamonds} on seventh street to finish with queens up.

Hsiung flipped over his last card {6-Hearts} and failed to improve, becoming the first elimination of the final table.
