Laake Sizes Up, Takes Pot Down in Back-to-Back Hands

In the first hand, Michael Laake opened to 1,500 and the button called. The small blind three-bet to 7,000 and Laake four-bet to 19,000. The small blind folded and Laake showed .

The next hand, Laake opened to 1,300 and a player in late position three-bet to 3,500. The hijack cold-called and Laake called as well.

The flop came and the late-position player continued for 6,000. The hijack folded and Laake boosted it up to 16,000. The late-position player folded and Laake's aggression paid off once again.

Action was picked up after the big blind had moved all in for 35,300. Action was on Daniel Ferketa, the hijack, who made the call.

The big blind got up and began gathering his stuff, preparing to leave should he be eliminated. The table was quick to point out both that the hand was not over, and that he might have chips left should he lose the pot, as the two players had nearly equal stacks. The runout came , offering on help to the opponent, and securing the pot for Ferketa, doubling his stack. After a count of both stacks from the dealer, it was realized that the opponent had Ferketa covered by 200.

On the very next hand, that opponent was in the small blind, moving all in to post it. After a bit of side pot action, he found himself in a heads-up showdown, where he had just king high against his opponent's top pair, and he was promptly eliminated.

A player got his last 8,000 in the middle and was up against Japanese bracelet winner Naoya Kihara. The all-in player showed , while Kihara showed the same hand .

The flop meant Kihara was on a freeroll toward a flush, which he got closer to completing on the turn. The river came the and Kihara made his flush to eliminate his opponent.

"Good hand," the busted player said, taking the bad beat in stride and still smiling as he made his exit.

The remaining players have been sent on their final 20-minute break of the day. They will return to play one more level at blinds of 300/600 with a 600 big blind ante.

There were some brutal coolers during Level 4, including rivered quads over a nut flush. Patrick Hagenlocher also became the first player in the field to surpass the 300,000 mark while Michael Banducci caught some heat to rise up the leaderboard. Purewal Goes For it All

Having just been moved to the table, Sahib Purewal saw a late-position raise. Purewal put in the three-bet from the big blind and was called.

Heads up, the two players saw the flop. Purewal didn't continue, instead check-calling a bet of 7,500 of his opponent.

The hit the turn and Purewal checked again. His opponent bet 10,000, having about 34,000 behind.

Purewal stood up to get a better view of his opponent's chip stack. After doing so, he moved all in.

His opponent let go of his cards pretty quickly and Purewal showed the table that he sat down to and flopped a set.

"Welcome to the table," said his new neighbors.

Liu Sends Margets Home

An early-position player raised and Shijia Liu three-bet to 3,200 from the hijack. Leo Margets, from the button, four-bet to around 8,500. The original raiser folded and Liu took his time before calling.

The flop came and Liu checked over to Margets who continued for 5,500. Liu raised to 15,000 and Margets, after thinking for a minute, called.

The arrived on the turn and both players would slowly tap the table.

On the river, Liu took over a minute before putting in 45,000, which effectively put Margets all in.

Margets only had 38,500 left behind her and the Spanish WSOP bracelet winner took about two minutes before putting in a crying call.

Liu turned over and Margets could only reply "Yup" as she tabled and told the players at the table "Good luck!"

Meanwhile, Liu immediately becomes one of the biggest stacks in the red section with over 140,000.
