Brad Owen
Brad Owen

A player opened to 500 on the button and was called by Brad Owen out of the big blind.

Owen checked on a flop of {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and then called the 600 continuation from his opponent.

The {k-Hearts} turn saw Owen check for a second time. He again called after the button fired off a bet of 1,400.

Action went check-check on the {8-Spades} river and Owen showed down {q-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a winner to take down the pot and keep himself chipping up early in the day.

Telliard Hits River

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The four-way action was picked up with 8,300 in the pot and a flop of {7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds} on the felt. The players checked through that flop leading to the {6-Diamonds} turn.

Timothy Telliard, in the hijack, led out for 7,000. The cutoff got out of the way, as did Frank Kassela in the big blind, before a hesitant call came from early position.

The {9-Hearts} river was checked by both players, meaning it was time for showdown. Telliard turned over {9-Spades}{8-Spades}, good for a pair on the river. His opponent, seemingly a bit disgusted, tossed his cards into the muck, awarding the pot to Telliard.
