Samantha Abernathy
Samantha Abernathy

Sam Abernathy raised the cutoff to 2,200 and Raphael Wimmer three-bet to 7,600 from the small blind.

Abernathy called and the flop brought {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Wimmer led for 4,000 and Abernathy called.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and Wimmer sized up to 15,000. Abernathy moved all in and Wimmer quickly called.

Sam Abernathy: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Raphael Wimmer: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Abernathy held a straight, with a flush draw to boot. Wimmer had a set of kings and was looking for a board pair.

The {j-Hearts} fell on the river and Abernathy got a full double, while Wimmer was left with just 10,000.

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Adam Grandmaison
Adam Grandmaison

Adam Grandmaison, also known as "Adam22" for his podcast NoJumper, is in the house. He is coming off a 25th place finish in the million-dollar bounty event for $31,000 plus whatever he scored in bounties.

He found himself heads-up with five-time bracelet winner Brian Rast.

Grandmaison overbet to 20,000 into a pot of about 17,000 on the {5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades} river and Rast was in the blender.

"I don't know about this one," said Rast.

He flicked in a call and Grandmaison showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} a set of sevens to take the pot. He is sitting on about a quarter million, while Rast is still sitting on a big stack.

'Merica!

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Scott Stewart from a previous event
Scott Stewart from a previous event

There was a completed board of {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades} spread across the table with nearly 18,000 in the middle. Miguel Silva led out with a bet of 12,000 on the river and was called by George Turner on his left.

Scott Stewart, sporting the classic red, white, and blue headband, announced a raise to 38,000 on the button, leaving himself with around 20,000 behind. Silva went deep into the tank for about three minutes before finally making the agonizing fold. Turner gave it some thought as well but folded much quicker.

With both hands in the muck, Stewart flipped up his {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a king-high bluff. "Merica!" one of his tablemates shouted as Stewart collected a healthy pot.

D'Ambrosio Riding the Waves the of Main; Lays Down a Monster

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

Jimmy D'Ambrosio's stack has been fluctuating all day, he's been down as far as 90,000 and up as much as 260,000.

The player on his right raised from the cutoff 3,000 and D'Ambrosio didn't appreciate it.

"Raise?" asked D'Ambrosio. "I might raise, I do the raising."

D'Ambrosio made it 7,000 and the cutoff called to see the {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop.

"Check to the raiser," said the cutoff.

D'Ambrosio checked back and they saw the {5-Diamonds} turn. The cutoff checked again, prompting a 15,000 bet that won the pot for D'Ambrosio.

"If it was a bluff I'd show you," he said.

On the next hand, the same player raised the button this time and D'Ambrosio wasn't having it.

"Twice in a row?" he asked. "I gotta be honest I don't believe you."

D'Ambrosio three-bet again to 9,000 from the small blind and Andy Philachack shoved from the big for 64,000 more. D'Ambrosio went into the blender.

"I think we're dancing," he said. "Now you're putting on the fake nervousness?"

He continued to talk and count out his stack.

"You're begging me for a call," said D'Ambrosio as he folded {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} ace-queen suited. "I'm the worst."

Philachack flashed {a-Hearts} the ace of hearts.

"You think I'm shoving ace-nothing?" asked Philachack.

"Yes I think you would," said D'Ambrosio.

William Smith
William Smith

William Smith called a three-bet of 10,000 from the small blind and another player came along as well.

It was three ways to a {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop and the three-bettor continued with a bet. Smith raised it up, the third player shoved for 85,000 and the three-bettor folded. Smith was in the tank and called.

At-Risk Player: {7-}{7-}
William Smith: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Smith's top two was behind the set of sevens but he also had a backdoor flush draw. It was no sweat for Smith as he binked an {a-} ace on the turn for the full house and the {6-Diamonds} river bricked off to send him a huge pot before dinner.
