Welch Doubles Through Attenborough

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante
Robert Welch
Robert Welch

Tom Kunze opened to 1,600,000 under the gun and Robert Welch moved all in for 6,750,000 in middle position. Adrian Attenborough called in the hijack, while everyone else folded.

Robert Welch: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Adrian Attenborough: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Welch was in good shape but picked up a big sweat as the {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop gave his Aussie opponent a flush draw, and the crowd reacted accordingly. The {j-Diamonds} turn brought chop outs, but the {4-Diamonds} river bricked out to confirm Welch's double.

A Couple of Raise and Take It

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Soon after he was moved tables to balance the last 14 contenders across two tables, Vadim Rozin open-pushed for 15,200,000 on the button with the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Timothy Su asked for a count and folded after nearly one minute of consideration, Jeffrey Farnes instantly folded in the big blind.

Rozin then min-raised to 1,600,000 and claimed the blinds and big blind ante.

David Diaz achieved the same feat with an open raise from under the gun while Matija Dobric did so from the button.

Su Catches Conniff on a Move

Level 36 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Asher Conniff made it 1,600,000 to go in the cutoff and Matthew Su came along in the big blind, which led them to the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Su check-called a first bet worth 1,000,000 and did so again for 4,500,000 on the {10-Spades} turn.

After the {9-Diamonds} on the river, Su checked the third street in a row and that prompted a barrel worth 7,700,000 for half the pot by Conniff. Su made the call and was good with the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}, as Conniff was caught on a move holding the {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.
