Zhou Takes it Down With a Check-Raise

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player in late position opened to 3,000. Action folded around to Leon Zhou in the big blind who put in calling chips to see a Q57 flop. Zhou opted to check the flop to his opponent who continued with a bet of 4,000 only to see Zhou answer back with a check-raise to 14,000. After thinking for a couple of minutes, the late position player finally relented and tossed his cards toward the muck.

PokerNews Podcast co-host Jesse Fullen has headed back to the registration desk for his second of two entries on the day, but shared his elimination details with the live reporting team.

As told by Fullen, he defended his big blind to a middle position raise and call from the small blind to see a flop of 1084.

Action checked to the original raiser who bet 4,000 which only Fullen called.

On the 3 turn, Fullen check-raised a 6,000 chip bet for his entire 14,000 chip stack and got called.

Jesse Fullen: Q10
Middle Position: JJ

Fullen's top pair needed help that didn't come on the 7 river and he's off to the desk for a fresh 25,000 chips.

Meanwhile co-hosts Chad Holloway and Connor Richards are also hovering around a starting stack size of about 20 big blinds.

Robertson Wins a Battle of the Blinds

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action folded to the small blind who elected to raise 2,500 into Clint Robertson in the big blind. Robertson called to see a 108K flop and quickly saw the small blind lead for 2,500. Robertson, wasting little time, moved enough chips into the pot to put his opponent all in which was quickly met with a call from the small blind.

Small Blind: K6
Clint Robertson: K10

The A turn and the 4 river offered no improvement for the all-in player and Robertson took down the pot.

Chad Holloway: AA
Under the Gun: JJ
Middle Position: AK

The board comes K3259 and Holloway's aces hold up to send him to dinner break with a triple-up and then some.

McAvoy Can't Miss

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

John McAvoy, who has had an excellent couple levels, was found showing his opponents the KK on a board reading 9KK410 after no one called his bet. He mentioned he usually has trouble making a hand, but that doesn't seem to be the case today, as he moves up in the chip counts.
