Koller Wins Battle of Flushes

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

WSOP bracelet winner Ran Koller was in early position when a player under the gun raised 9,000.

Koller, one of the shortest stacks at his table, moved all in for his remaining 46,000. Action quickly folded to the original raiser, who counted out chips and made the call.

Koller: KQ
Opponent: 98

The dealer placed 75A on the flop, giving both players a flush draw. Koller’s opponent was drawing to an inferior flush, but he picked up a gut-shot straight draw, including a straight flush draw.

The 2 on the turn didn’t alter the hand trajectory. While the J on the river gave both players a flush, Koller’s hand dominated his opponent.

Tilton Doubles Through Farrell

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Down to just 45,000 in chips, James Tilton got it in with the K10. He was looked up by Niall Farrell with the AQ and spiked an open-ender on the QJ6 flop. Nothing changed with the J turn but the A on the river improved Tilton to broadway.

No Score for Kruse This Time

Max Kruse recalled a fortunate triple up when he had a very short stack earlier on but one of the players involved then finished him off. Kruse was at risk for around seven blinds with the A10 and Lucien Silveira looked him up with the K6.

The board ran out 876J5 and the pair of sixes for Silveira dealt the final blow.

Catela Takes Another Hit

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The stack of Jose Catela has been swinging up and down throughout the day and he just suffered another setback.

On a heads-up flop of 432, the big blind check-called a bet worth 15,000 by Catela. Both checked down the 5 turn and K as Catela was shown the 54 for two pair. That was good enough to win the pot since Catela sent his cards into the muck.

Pupillo Scores Double Up

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Nick Pupillo woke up with a hand in the big blind and made a move.

After a player in late position raised to 12,000, Pupillo moved all in for his remaining 70,000 and was called. To his surprise, Pupillo was ahead when the cards were tabled.

Pupillo: 66
Opponent: 44

The dealer fanned 68K on the flop, giving Pupillo a set and having his opponent drawing thin. The turn produced 10, which now had Pupillo’s opponent drawing dead, and 4 on the river did nothing to change the hand.

Wantman Knocked Out

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Jeremy Eyer got it in for 60,000 before the flop and Matthew Wantman pushed in his near even stack out of the big blind.

Jeremy Eyer: 108
Matthew Wantman: AQ

Wantman had diamonds covered and hit the superior pair on the A85 flop. However, the 8 turn gave Eyer trips and the 9 river changed nothing anymore. Wantman had 2,000 chips left and was forced all-in from the small blind to bow out in the next hand.
