Elezra Cannot Find Fold

A player opened from the cutoff and Eli Elezra three-bet on the button only to see the big blind four-bet. Both the cutoff player and Elezra called to generate three-way action heading to the first draw.

The big blind stood pat on the initial draw while both the cutoff and Elezra took one card. After the draw, the big blind bet and received two calls.

The same drawing pattern took place on the second draw after which the big blind bet again and was called by the cutoff. Elezra then raised but could not shed either of his opponents, both of whom called.

The final draw saw the big blind stand pat, the cutoff take one and Elezra decline to draw. The big blind then checked, prompting the cutoff to bet. That seemed to put Elezra in a tricky position but he did end up making call while the big blind got out of the way. Elezra mucked after his opponent showed down 6♦5♣3♠2♥ telling the rest of the table he had held nine-six.

Baker Loses Small One

After finishing 11th earlier today in the $10,000 Stud Championship, David "Bakes" Baker hopped into this event. A player in the cutoff limped as did the small blind. Baker then checked his option out of the big blind.

The small blind and cutoff took two cards on the first draw while Baker opted for one after which the small blind checked to Baker who led out. The cutoff called while the small blind folded to send action heads-up to the second draw.

On the second draw Baker stood pat and his opponent drew one. Baker bet again and once more was called.

Both players stood pat on the final draw. Action then went check-check and the cutoff showed down Q♥6♠4♦A♣ as Baker mucked.

Strelitz On The Rise

Daniel Strelitz opened from middle position and was called by Ken Aldridge on the button as well as Andrew Kelsall in the big blind.

Kelsall drew one on the initial draw while Strelitz stood pat and Aldridge took two. Action then checked to Strelitz who bet and was called by Aldridge. Kelsall then raised, receiving two calls.

The second draw saw Kelsall stand pat with Strelitz, after some thought, opting to break his hand and take one. Aldridge too drew one. Kelsall then led out but did not shake off either of his opponents, both of whom called.

On the final draw the drawing pattern did not change with Kelsall deciding to bet again. Strelitz raised, Aldridge folded and Kelsall, though he appeared to know precisely where he was at, called only to toss his hand away after Strelitz tabled 6♦3♣2♠A♥.

Greenstein Puts a Damper on Glaser's Party

Barry Greenstein and Benny Glaser both appeared in a festive mood at the table, sharing a toast to the latter's birthday. Greenstein opened from the cutoff and was called by Glaser in the small blind.

On the first draw, Glaser took two cards to Greenstein's one after which the British mixed-game specialist check-raised a bet. Greenstein made the call to send action to the second draw.

Both players stood pat before checking through to the final draw at which point neither opted to break their hand. Glaser then checked for a third time before calling a bet from Greenstein, who tabled 8♥5♣2♠A♦ for a winner.

Shack-Harris Hanging in There

Brandon Shack-Harris had less than a big blind left and got the last of his chips in from early position.

He took two on the first draw, one on the second, and then stood pat while the big blind and button built a side pot.

When it came to to showdown, the button briefly showed 9♦8♣7♠A♦ before mucking. Shack-Harris tabled J♥6♣4♠2♦ to win the main pot and the big blind won a considerably larger side-pot with Q♦9♠7♥5♣
