Popovych Takes a Huge Chunk From Tang

Level 32 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 0 ante
Serhii Popovych
Serhii Popovych

Michael Rodrigues raised from the cut-off, was reraised by Serhii Popovych and Danny Tang put in a fourth bet. Rodrigues got out of the way.

Popovych stood pat and Tang took one. The action went bet, call. Again, Popovych patted and Tang took one. Then the craziness began.

Popovych bet once more and a series of raises ensued, which ended when Popovych capped the action with a fifth bet and Tang called.

Popovych patted and Tang drew one. The Ukranian went all in for his last 160,000 and Tang thought for a minute before deciding that he could not fold for less than one big bet.

Popovych tabled a perfect 432A which he had held from the start of the hand.

Li Fights Back

Level 32 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Yingui Li, who at one point at the final table was down to his last card, has managed to stage a comeback that sees him sit second in chips. Michael Rodrigues opened from middle position and was called by Yingui Li in the cutoff.

On the first draw, Rodrigues stood pat while Li took one. Rodrigues then bet and was called.

The same drawing pattern took place on the second draw but this time Li raised after Rodrigues bet. Rodrigues came back over the top with a raise and Li just called.

The final draw saw both players decline to draw. Rodrigues bet again before calling after Li raised. "Six" announced Li as he showed down 6432 good enough to scoop the large pot and leave a visibly frustrated Rodrigues shaking his head.

Tang on Life Support

Level 33 : Blinds 75,000/150,000, 0 ante

Danny Tang opened from under the gun before Serhii Popovych three-bet out of the big blind. Tang responded with a four-bet, which Popovych called.

Both players patted and checked through the first two draws to the final draw at which point they again declined to draw. Popovych had had enough of checking at that stage, tossing out a bet which Tang, not appearing too happy with the situation, called. Tang mucked after Popovych tabled 752A to leave him with just over one big bet and needing a good run of cards fast to mount a comeback.

Danny Tang Eliminated in 5th Place ($28,270)

Level 33 : Blinds 75,000/150,000, 0 ante

Danny Tang opened from under the gun and called after Yingui Li three-bet out of the small blind.

Li stood pat on the first draw while Tang took one. "Gotta get there" he told his rail as he peeled his card before calling a bet from Li.

The second draw saw Li stand pat once again with Tang taking another card. Li then bet enough to force Tang all in with the high stakes regular committing his last few chips to the pot.

On the final draw, Li stood pat and Tang took his last card. "One more chance" Tang said as he turned over 72A, behind the Q875 of Li. After making a spectacle of revealing the fourth card, Tang flipped over the A, condemning him to a fifth place finish after sitting on a big stack for much of the day.
