Three ways to the Q♥7♥3♦ flop, a single bet went into the middle between Nicholas Blumenthal, Dylan Smith and Chino Rheem. The former then bet the 9♦ turn and Smith folded, while Rheem raised to earn a call.
After the J♠ river, both checked and Blumenthal announced a set of jacks, flashing the K♦Q♦J♦J♠. "You have a what?!" Rheem instantly asked as he vaulted out of the chair from the other side of the table to study the cards of his opponent.
"You were in great shape," the sarcastic comment by Rheem followed as he exposed his A♣A♦6♦ and mucked the fourth card face down.
Jose Luis Valador raised from the button and was called by Michael Rodrigues in the big blind. The flop came Q♣4♥3♥ and Rodrigues lead out.
The bet was called by Velador and the two players saw the K♠ hit the turn. This time it checked through to the 4♦ river. Rodrigues checked, then called a bet by Velador.
Velador showed K♥8♦6♠4♠ for four's full of kings and Rodrigues showed A♥Q♥J♥2♣ for two pair.
Three digits have been reached as there are now 102 players in the field. Among the latest to enter were Andrew Brown, Michael McKenna, Yuri Dzivielevski and Joao Simao.
Dylan Lambe raised and Shaun Deeb three-bet for Kyle Ray to call out of the small blind, Lambe also called. On the K♥10♣4♣ flop, Ray and Lambe check-called and Ray was then the only one to check-call the K♣ turn and 9♣ river.
Deeb announced "two pair" to which Ray exposed his A♣3♣3♦2♥ for the nut flush. Only then, the cards of Deeb were shown as he flashed the K♠K♦10♥2♠ for quads to rake in the pot. Early on Day 1, Deeb has nearly doubled his stack while Lambe is on fumes.
Multi-way action led to the K♥8♥4♦5♣6♣ river on which two bets each went in between Sammy Farha, Sami Hamid and Max Kruse.
Farha with the 7♦3♣2♠2♦ had a seven-high straight to earn half of the high pot along with Kruse's A♠Q♦7♥3♦, who then also chopped the low versus Hamid's A♥A♦K♣3♥.
