Position Pays Off for Ponakovs

Level 2 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

A pair of WSOP bracelet winners squared off shortly before the end of Level 2.

Gregory Jensen raised to 7,000 in middle position, but immediately faced resistance from Aleksejs Ponakovs, who three-bet to 25,000 on the button.

Jensen called and the action went to flop, which saw 10K4. Jensen checked, leading Ponakovs to bet 12,000, which Jensen called.

The dealer then placed 7 on the turn, which Jensen once again checked. Ponakovs then pounded the pot with a 75,000 bet, which forced Jensen out of the hand.
