Boulais Doubles then Franklin Quadruples
Level 2
: Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
On a heads-up turn board of 8♣9♣6♣9♦, the pot had around 10,000 in it and Reggie Franklin led out for all of his chips, covering his opponent, Joe Boulais.
Boulais only paused for a few seconds before making the call for his tournament life.
"Agh, nice call," Franklin sighed as he turned over K♠Q♠ for just king high while Boulais flipped over A♣4♣ for the flopped nut flush.
The meaningless 8♦ came on the river to give Boulais a huge double-up to 85,000 early in the tournament.
Franklin, who was left short with only around 5,100, moved all in preflop the very next hand and managed to quadruple-up when he hit a straight on the river with A♦9♦ on a 7x7x6x8x10x board.
