Johansson Cuts Down Ho

Oscar Johansson opened from the cutoff and was called by Maria Ho in the big blind.

The first draw saw Ho take one to Johansson's three after which Ho led out and was called.

On the second draw Ho again drew one while Johansson opted for two. Ho then bet again only for Johansson to respond with a raise. That sent Ho into the tank as she counted out her remaining stack. After a few moments, Ho tossed her hand away to leave herself short.

Scott Abrams raised in first position which saw Michael Balan call in the big blind.

On the first draw Balan drew four and Abrams drew two. Balan check called a bet from Abrams on the first betting round.

On the second draw, Balan drew two and Abrams drew one. Balan check called a bet to put himself all in for his last 7,000.

Balan drew two and Abrams drew one as Balan turned over 7x5x3x and Abrams turned over 6x4x3xAx. Balan was drawing to an eight as he peeled the 8x first card, but the second card came out a Kx and he needed Abrams to pair to stay alive in the tournament. Abrams peeled a 7x and Balan wished his tablemates good luck as he left the tournament area.

They also highlight Jeremy Ausmus winning his sixth bracelet, the upcoming PokerNews Cup at Golden Nugget, the July 2 Celebration of Life for Doyle Brunson, and Phil Hellmuth arriving in costume with his tag team partner Dan “Jungleman” Cates.

Marella Gets Aggressive

Divakaran Marella opened from middle position and was called by Chino Rheem in the cutoff as well as Matt Vengrin on the button.

Both Marella and Rheem took two cards on the first draw while Vengrin drew one. Marella then led out, getting a call from Rheem. Vengrin chose to raise, only to see Marella come back over the top. Both Rheem and Vengrin called.

Marella stood pat on the second draw with Rheem and Vengrin each taking one. Marella fired another barrel and was called by Rheem but not Vengrin, who got out of the way.

The final draw saw Marella stand pat and bet one last time after Rheem took one. Rheem tossed his hand away to send a large pot over to Marella.

Barbero Survives

Nacho Barbero raised from the button and in the big blind Michael Balan called him.

On the first draw, Balan drew three while Barbero drew two and bet when Balan checked to him, which Balan called.

The second draw saw Balan draw for two and Barbero for one which drew out another check from Balan and Barbero moved all in for his last bet and Balan called.

The final draw saw Balan draw one and Barbero stood pat turning up a 98763 which was good against Balan's 108764 and he raked in the pot.

Vieira Sends Tran Packing

Level 16

Michael Rodrigues opened from the cutoff and was called by Phuong Tran on the button as well as Joao Vieira in the big blind.

All three players took one card on the first draw after which Vieira checked. Rodrigues bet and received two calls.

The second draw saw the same drawing pattern repeated with action then checked through to the final draw.

On the final draw each player once again took one card. Vieira then led out with Rodrigues making the call. Tran committed her last few chips to the pot but left her seat after Vieira showed down 763A to scoop the pot.

Nick Pupillo raised in first position which saw Robert Campbell raise in the big blind and Pupillo called.

Both players drew one on the first draw and both checked on the first betting round.

On the second draw both players drew one and Campbell bet which Pupillo called.

The final draw saw Campbell pat and Pupillo drew one which saw both players check. Campbell turned over 7x4x3x2xAx for a seven which was good as Pupillo mucked his hand.
