Taffe Takes Out Foxen

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Leo Taffe opened to 14,000 from the hijack and Alex Foxen moved all in for 138,000 from the small blind. Taffe made the call with a covering stack to put Foxen at risk.

Alex Foxen: AK
Leo Taffe: JJ

It was a classic preflop flip. The flop came Q75 giving Foxen plenty of outs. The turn was the 7 and the river was the J, giving Foxen an ace-high flush that was second best versus Taffe's full house. Foxen was sent to the rail just shy of making the money while Taffe dragged in a chunky pot.

Ullman Gives No Fuchs

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

The action folded to Tom Fuchs on the button who shipped all in for his last 39,000. Pavel Spirins also pushed all in from the small blind and Devin Ullman called off his last 160,000 chips in the big blind.

Tom Fuchs: 77
Devin Ullman: AK
Pavel Spirins: A10

The flop fell K53 and Ullman flopped the best hand with a pair of kings. The 2 and 9 runout changed nothing and Ullman doubled up while eliminating Fuchs. Spirins was left with just 12,000 chips after the hand and busted shortly after.

Lococo Up to His Old Tricks

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Alejandro Lococo
Alejandro Lococo

Alejandro Lococo and Ankush Mandavia were heads-up in a three-bet pot with around 60,000 in the middle already. The flop came 1084 and Mandavia checked from the big blind. Lococo jammed all in from the big blind and Mandavia instantly called off his stack of around 85,000.

Ankush Mandavia: AA
Alejandro Lococo: K7

Mandavia caught Lococo bluffing but he didn't know what was in store for him. The 9 on the turn made things interesting as Lococo picked up a combo draw. The river was the J and Lococo rivered a straight, sending Mandavia to the rail.

Chris Brewer: 54
Anton Lu: 105

Ace from Space for Hardcastle

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action was picked up midway through a series of bets preflop. Igor Dursel had opened, Jack Hardcastle had three-bet to 32,000 and Norbert Szecsi had four-bet to 85,000. Hardcastle five-bet all in for about 240,000 and Szecsi quickly called with a covering stack.

Jack Hardcastle: A5
Norbert Szecsi, QQ

Hardcastle was in bad shape against Szecsi's queens and still needed some help after the 267 flop. He got exactly what he needed when the A spiked on the turn and stayed ahead on the 10 river, scooping a massive pot in the process while Szecsi was left short-stacked with the bubble approaching.

Meanwhile at another table, Vanessa Selbst has been eliminated from the tournament.

Ivey Stares Down Hudon

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Phil Ivey in a previous event

Action was picked up on the river. Players were heads up, there was about 90,000 in the pot and the board read 51072Q. Eliot Hudon had bet 45,000 from the big blind, leaving only 3,000 behind, and Phil Ivey had a decision of whether or not to call.

Ivey gave Hudon his signature stare down for roughly a minute before flicking in the call.

Hudon tabled Q10 for flopped top pair, rivered two pair which was good enough to take down the pot, worth a full double up for Hudon.
