Thompson Proves Failla Wrong

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Gary Thompson raised it up in early position and Will Failla shoved his short stack of around 60,000 in the middle on his left. The action folded back to Thompson who made the easy call.

"I'm gonna make a flush," Failla said as Thompson was dropping in the chips.

Will Failla: AQ
Gary Thompson: 66

The flop came A95 and Failla picked up a pair of aces. However, it was Thompson who made a flush on the 4 turn and Failla was left drawing dead to the 7 on the river.

Yaroshevskyy Fades the World to Double Up

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Biao Ding raised to 16,000 from under the gun and Igor Yaroshevskyy reraised to 58,000 out of the big blind. Ding called and they went heads-up to a flop of 886.

Yaroshevskyy led out with a bet of 30,000 and Ding called to see the 10 on the turn. Yaroshevskyy checked this time and Ding jammed all in as the bigger stack. Yaroshevskyy quickly called off his last 162,000 chips but had plenty of outs to fade.

Igor Yaroshevskyy: AA
Biao Ding: Q9

The river was the 5 and Yaroshevskyy's pair of aces held on to double up through Ding.

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Kristina Holst opened from under the gun to 16,000 and Chris Brewer moved all in from the big blind for slightly more. Holst made the call to put herself at risk.

Kristina Holst: AK
Chris Brewer: JJ

Holst got the best of the K66 flop, leaving Brewer drawing to two outs. Those outs never materialiazed on the 7 turn and A river, leaving Brewer short-stacked while Holst collected a big double up.

Two hands later at the same table, Timo Kamphues moved all in from under the gun for his last 40,000 and Brewer made the call from the button with a slightly bigger stack to put Kamphues at risk.

Timo Kamphues: A2
Chris Brewer: AA

The board ran out 461028 giving Brewer the nut flush to send Kamphues to the rail and replenish some of the chips he had just lost to Holst.

Bigot announced all in and Kovalski went into the tank for multiple minutes. He eventually called off his stack of around 90,000 and Bigot showed K9 for a flush and the best hand.

No Hand-for-Hand Necessary

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

As the clock was winding with the number of players still in the field, the tournament director asked the dealers to hold up after their current hand. There was one hand that was currently taking place with the action picked up on the river.

The board read KQJ8K and the button slid out a bet of 95,000 into a pot of around 140,000. Sung Joo Hyun check-raised all in as the big stack and the button slammed in some chips to call off his stack.

Hyun turned over K8 for a full house while his opponent flashed A2 for the nut flush. There were multiple eliminations on the last hand, bringing the field to 180 players remaining and everyone is in the money.

Baker Attacks on the River

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action was picked up on the flop. Players were heads up, the board showed 1096 and there was about 45,000 in the pot. Valeriano Toledano Moreno bet 14,000 from the small blind and David "Bakes" Baker made the call in position.

Both players checked the 6 turn. On the 8 river Moreno checked and Baker, perhaps sensing weakness, fired a 39,000 bet which was enough to force a fold from his opponent.
