Robinson Makes Quads
Level 42
: Blinds 1,500,000/3,000,000, 3,000,000 ante
Colin Robinson and Darrick Arreola decided to run five cards as they waged a raising war preflop. It turned out to be a pair versus pair confrontation.
Colin Robinson: 7♣7♥
Darrick Arreola: 5♠5♣
Arreola was far behind but came into the final table with quite the chip lead, so this pot would be far more crucial to Robinson.
The flop rolled, 2♣K♣10♣ and Robinson remained in the lead. Robinson locked up the hand on the turn when the 7♦ peeled he made a set followed by a bit of overkill with the 7♠ as Robinson made quads the table released a collective, "Ohhhh!"
