Morgenstern Dodges Everything to Double
Level 20
: Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Anton Morgenstern raised to 220,000 in the cutoff, then called off his last 540,000 when Noah Schwartz shoved from the blinds.
Anton Morgenstern: A♣K♠Q♥J♣
Noah Schwartz: A♦J♦10♥7♥
"I'm completely dead. I need a seven," Schwartz said heading to the 9♦4♦2♣ flop, which gave him the nut flush draw.
Both players paired the ace on the A♣ turn, but Morgenstern's king-kicker played following the 5♥ river as he survived.
"I should've just called. I could've jammed the flop," Schwartz lamented.
