Lonis Jams Into Haxton

Level 23 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

Right before the blinds moved up, a three-way limped pot emerged and led to the AK10 flop. It checked to Isaac Haxton in the under-the-gun position and he bet the minimum for 120,000. Jesse Lonis in the small blind check-raised to 445,000 and Ian Matakis folded in the big blind, while Haxton called.

The 7 followed on the turn and Lonis now bet 1,275,000, earning a reluctant call from Haxton.

Lonis emptied the clip with a shove on the 6 river and Haxton folded.

"Show the bluff," Eelis Pärssinen dared Lonis, who first flashed the QQ followed by the 2 without disclosing the final card.

I had the exact same hand I busted to Joao Vieira with in the $25k," Lonis then concluded.

Matakis Outflushes Hendrix

Level 23 : Blinds 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante

In the last hand of the previous level, Ian Matakis raised pot to 420,000 preflop. The action folded to Adam Hendrix in the small blind, who repotted for 1,380,000, enough to put Matakis all-in. Jesse Lonis folded his big blind and Matakis made the call.

Ian Matakis: 101063
Adam Hendrix: KK97

"I don't have a very good hand," Matakis noted, "but it could win." Indeed it could, when the flop came JK5 to make both players a flush, with Matakis having Hendrix pipped.

However, Hendrix still had full house outs as he had flopped a set of kings as well. The turn 6 and river 8 would remain clean, though, and Matakis secured a double-up.

Jesse Lonis then opened to 360,000 in the next hand and Haxton potted to 1,260,000 on the button. The blinds folded to Lonis, who opted to call.

They headed to the Q97 flop on which Lonis checked. Haxton bet 2,500,000 and Lonis called all-in for 2,190,000.

Isaac Haxton: QQ86

Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

Jared Bleznick: QJJ5
Tyler Smith: AKK8

Bleznick had run into a set-over-set cooler but did pick up a straight draw on the 10 turn. The river, though, came the 6 and Bleznick was sent to the payout desk in 15th place.

Hendrix Hauls A Double

Level 22 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Adam Hendrix raised to 420,000 from the cutoff and button Jesse Lonis announced a minimum raise to 720,000. Only Hendrix made the call, leaving himself just shy of 200,000 chips back.

The flop was dealt 479 and the rest of Hendrix's stack went in the middle.

Adam Hendrix: KQJ3
Jesse Lonis: AQ52

Neither player had something as of yet, but Hendrix had a flush draw, which came in on the K turn. The 6 river was useless as Lonis had no outs left to hit, and Hendrix raked in a double-up in this volatile stage of the tournament.

Pakinai Lisawad Eliminated in 16th Place ($103,093)

Level 22 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Pakinai Lisawad
Pakinai Lisawad

Isaac Haxton raised to 360,000 from early position as action folded around to Pakinai Lisawad in the small blind, who potted to 1,200,000.

Haxton looked back at the other table to see if there was a big pot in progress and tanked for more than a minute before he repotted. Lisawad practically beat him into the pot and called all in.

Pakinai Lisawad: AAQ8
Isaac Haxton: AKK4

Haxton had run into a massive cooler with nearly 8,000,000 in the middle but spiked a set on the 25K flop, leaving Lisawad drawing to the last ace in the deck.

Instead, the turn came the 7 and the K river improved Haxton to quads. The stacks were counted down and Lisawad had 3,540,000 remaining. Haxton barely had him covered as Lisawad was sent to the rail.
