Michael Savakinas Eliminated in 16th Place ($8,948)

Level 23
Michael Savakinas
Michael Savakinas

Big O

Dimitrios Michailidis raised to 56,000 from early position and Michael Savakinas three-bet to 195,000 from late position, which represented about two-thirds of Savakinas' stack.

Michailidis called and checked to Savakinas, who pushed in his remaining chips on the 2710 flop, with Michailidis quickly calling.

Michael Savakinas: AA952
Dimitrios Michailidis: AKQ32

As it happened, it was a big flop for Savakinas, whose aces were still in the lead to go along with the nut flush draw, leaving him looking good for at least half the pot.

However, Michailidis would back into the wheel on a 54 runout and send Savakinas to the payout desk.

Savakinas Doubles Through Glaser, Then Runs into Park

Level 22

Pot-Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

Michael Savakinas limped from the small blind, and Benny Glaser checked his option. Each drew three. Savakinas attempted to go all in, but had to reduce the bet to a pot-sized 48,000 and Glaser called.

Each took one this time, and now Savakinas was able to get it all in for 120,000, and again Glaser called. Savakinas patted an eighty-six. Glaser broke a ten, but was only able to make an eighty-seven, and Savakinas had doubled up.

On the next hand, in a raised pot, Hye Park drew one from under the gun, as did Savakinas from the button. Each checked, then drew one more, and checked again. Then each patted.

Park led out for 140,000 and Savakinas said, "I knew you were going to check-raise on second." He tried to find the call and failed. "C'mon!" he said as he folded, "Show me a pair and be a hero." But Park, hero or not, did not oblige.

No-Limit 5-Card Draw High

Hye Park raised to 50,000 from late position and Michael Savakinas moved all-in from the big blind for 92,000, with Park making the call.

Hye Park: 99/XxXxXx

Both players started with a pair and drew three cards.

Savakinas pair of kings were best and after peeling Q84 he would need to hold in order to stay alive, which is exactly what happened after Park drew KQ5, giving Savakinas the full double.
