Day 2 of Event #77: $777 Lucky 7's No-Limit Hold'em at the World Series of Poker has been completed and, at the end of the day, only five players remain battling it out for the bracelet and the $777,777 top prize.

Anthony Scarborough ended the day with an impressive chip lead, bagging 140,000,000. Julien Montois started to gain momentum near the end of the night after winning a favorable flip to eliminate Yizhou Huang.

He bagged the second-largest chip stack with 70,700,000. Montois has found his fourth cash in a WSOP event and will at least double his total tournament earnings with this result.

Almost joining was Alexander Cole-Gardner, who was just shy of Day 3 after a very swingy Day 2 grind. He has only one other WSOP cash to his name, that coming in Event #70: $400 Colossus. Cole-Gardner said that he is “surprised to have stuck around, hovering between five and ten big blinds for the majority of the day”. Cole-Gardner banked $95,777 for his sixth-place finish.

Some 317 players began the action-packed Day 2 with many bracelet winners falling short of Day 3, including 2007 WSOP Main Event champion Jerry Yang, 2021 Ladies Championship winner Lara Eisenberg, four-time bracelet winner David Peters, and three-time bracelet winner David “ODB” Baker.

Levels remain 40 minutes long and blinds will begin on Level 41, 1,250,000/2,500,000, with a 2,500,000 big blind ante. They will play down to a winner with a 15-minute break scheduled every three levels (two hours).
