Philip Tom Triples Up

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action was joined preflop, with the player under the gun raising to 8,000 and the hijack calling. Philip Tom on the button then reraised all in for 21,000 total. Under the gun and the hijack both came along for a flop and checked it down to the river.

With a board of 677109, the hijack showed AJ, which was enough to cause the other unnamed opponent to muck before Tom turned over K10 to more than triple up.

Queens Beat Kings: Phang Scores Double Knockout

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

A player raised to 8,000 from early position and Phu Phang called from the small blind, with the player in the big blind moving all in.

The original raiser from early position re-shoved all in, and Phang made the call.

Big Blind: A4
Early Position: KK
Phu Phang: QQ

The early position player was in a good position to triple up with kings, but the 4JQ flop would launch Phang's queens into the lead and he would stay there on the 6 turn and the 7 river, sending both opponents to the rail.

Burgin Extracts Max Value

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Action was joined with the entire K10629 board having been dealt out. Stephen Burgin, under the gun, bet 10,000. His opponent, in middle position, reraised to 40,000. Burgin verified the bet amount before reraising to 100,000.

His opponent eventually made the call and showed QQ. His pair of queens were sent into the muck, though, when Burgin turned over QJ for a rivered straight.

Fortunate River Saves Haytko

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

James Haytko moved all in from early position and was called by a covering player in late position.

James Haytko: QJ
Late Position: 88

Haytko was slightly behind preflop and fell further behind the late position player's pocket eights after the 645 flop and A turn. But fortune favored the bold when the J river gave Haytko a full double-up.

Jones Makes a Good Fold, Maybe

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Guangming Lin

The board read 26857, and Brian Jones found himself in a conundrum from the hijack. Guangming Li, the button, had moved all in. Jones would be all in himself if he called, but was unsure of his next move.

Jones eventually folded, showing 22 as he tossed the cards into the muck. Li showed a single 10 as he collected the pot.

"My friends are gonna kill me for laying down a set," Jones said. "Come on, tell us what you had for the blog."

Li responded saying he had ten-nine, which would be good for a nut straight.

Assouline Saved by Quads

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action caught up with the cards on their backs in an all-in hand between Alexander Assouline in early position and a player in the big blind, with Assouline all in for 111,000.

Alexander Assouline: 77
Big Blind Player: 88

Assouline's fate looked bleak after running into his opponent's overpair, and the Q2A flop offered no additional help.

However, magic would strike on the 7 turn and just in case there was any doubt, the remaining 7 showed up on the river, giving Assouline the full double-up and new hope.
