Sammartino Takes One at Showdown
Level 7
: Blinds 0/0, 800 ante
Jesse Lonis opened to 7,500 from the hijack and both a player under the gun and Dario Sammartino in middle position made the call.
The flop fanned out A♣9♣7♦ and action checked to Lonis who continued for 20,000, which only Sammartino came along. The 8♠ hit the turn and both players checked their options to the J♠ river, where again it went check-check.
Sammartino announced two pair and tabled 9♠8♣. Lonis double checked his cards before tossing them into the muck and the pot was sent to Sammartino.
