Engel Finds a Pair After Missing a Flush
Level 4
: Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Ari Engel raised to 1,200 in the hijack and Eric Phillips reraised to 3,500 in the cutoff. Engel called and the flop of Q♠10♠8♥ was spread across the felt.
Engel check-called a bet of 4,000 from Phillips and the 7♦ landed on the turn. Both players checked and the 10♣ paired the board on the river. Engel checked again and Phillips checked it back. Engel turned over 7♠4♠ for a pair of sevens and Phillips looked dumbfounded as he mucked his cards.
