Bronshtein Has the Better Ace
Level 32
: Blinds 30,000/60,000, 6,000 ante
Yuval Bronshtein raised to 125,000 from the cutoff with A♣Q♦ and Sam Soverel called on the button holding A♦9♦.
The flop came J♣4♣2♥ and Bronshtein bet another 85,000. Soverel called with ace-high as the 2♣ fell on the turn.
Bronshtein checked and Soverel bet 215,000. Bronshtein, with the nut-flush draw, peeked back at his cards before calling to the K♠ river, where he checked again.
Soverel checked behind and Bronshtein took the pot with his queen-kicker.
