Kessler Shows the Nuts Before He Was All In

Level 10 : Limits 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

As we picked up the action on the turn with 24,000 in the pot, a board of 109QJ some controversy ensues.

After Christopher Roth made a bet of 6,000, Allen Kessler raised to 12,000. However, Kessler thought he heard Roth announce "raise" which would put Kessler all in for his remaining 6,000 chips and flipped his hand over which revealed that he had AxKx5x3x for the Broadway straight.

However, the dealer confirmed Roth did not raise and was still making a decision to call Kessler's bet. After an argument ensues for a couple of minutes on whether Roth announced raise, the players at the table and most importantly the dealer were adamant he did not declare raise.

After getting confirmation that Kessler had the nuts, Roth still made the call for 6,000 and we head to a river.

The river was the 10 and Roth bet 6,000 to put Kessler all in, Kessler who was very frustrated threw his chips in and was shown KJ109 for a rivered full house. Kessler threw his cards into the muck and was eliminated from the tournament.
