Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2024 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.
Today sees the start of Event #11: $1,500 Badugi here at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.
This three-day event gets underway at 2 p.m. local time with late registration open for nine levels. There will be 15-minute breaks every three levels, with no dinner break scheduled on Day 1.
The starting stack is 25,000 chips with the plan for Day 1 to play 15 levels. Day 2 resumes at 1 p.m. where levels increase to 60 minutes.
Last year's event was the very first Badugi bracelet event and saw 516 players generate a prize pool of $688,860. The winner was Michael Rodrigues who defeated Yingui Li heads-up. Rodrigues took home $144,678 and his first WSOP bracelet.

Ian Chan raised from the button and in the big blind, Carlos Rodriguez called.
Rodriguez drew one card while Chan drew two, prompting Rodriguez to bet and Chan called.
Both players drew the same on the following draw and there was no betting on the second round.
On the third draw, both players drew one. Rodriguez checked over to Chan who bet and Rodriguez called.
"King," declared Chan, tabling K♣9♦3♠2♥ for a king-nine Badugi and it was good for the pot.

Jeffrey Mitseff raised in the cutoff and called a three-bet from the player on the button.
Mitseff took one, while his opponent took two, and the action went check-check.
Mitseff now stayed pat and the button drew one. Mitseff led out with a bet, the button raised, and Mitseff put in the third bet. His opponent called.
Both players stood pat and the button called a final bet from Mitseff, who revealed 8♣6♠5♦2♥ to scoop the pot.

Action was picked up on the second betting round with a pot brewing between Joseph Wagganer on the button and another player in the big blind.
On the second draw, the big blind drew one while Wagganer stood pat. The big blind checked and then called a bet from Wagganer.
The third draw came with the big blind drawing one and then checking over to Wagganer who bet and the big blind folded.
Wagganer flashed 6♥4♦3♣2♠ for a six-four and he scooped an early pot.
