Wagganer Finds a Check-Raise

Michael Moncek opened the cutoff, Kevin Gerhart called on the button, and Joseph Wagganer three-bet from the small blind, which both players called.

Wagganer stood pat while Moncek and Gerhart both took two. Wagganer led with a bet and both players came along.

On the second draw, Wagganer remained pat, Moncek drew one, and Gerhart drew two. Wagganer bet, Moncek raised, Gerhart folded, and Wagganer called.

Both players stood pat on the final draw. Wagganer checked-raised a bet from Moncek who called the raise. Wagganer turned over the winner 643A for a six-four badugi and raked in a massive pot.

Amin Falls To Cantu

Brandon Cantu raised in the small blind and in the big blind, Ahmed Amin three-bet which prompted a four-bet from Cantu, leaving Amin to cap it pre which Cantu called.

Both players stood pat on the first draw and Cantu check-called a bet from Amin.

Cantu and Amin stood pat on the second draw and Cantu checked over to Amin who moved all in which Cantu called.

On the third draw, Cantu stood pat and Amin went into the tank before deciding to pitch two cards.

Cantu was dealt a jack-ten which was the best hand by showdown and he took down the pot to eliminate Amin from the tournament.

At the other tables, Abdel Hamid and Oliver Vereschagin were eliminated from the tournament.

World Champ Chris Moneymaker Opens Poker Room in Louisville, Kentucky

Chris Moneymaker is giving it another try, opening a poker room in Kentucky, this time in Louisville.

Moneymaker Social Louisville opened Saturday, becoming the second operating brick-and-mortar card room in the state. The other one, a slightly bigger room, is located just down the street, about 15-20 minutes from the University of Louisville campus.

Opening night "went well," poker room manager Christine Russell told PokerNews. As with any new business, there "were some kinks to work out." But as Russell said, players were impressed with the initial experience.

Tate Falls To Vereschagin

Action was picked up on the second betting round in a pot between Oliver Vereschagin in the cutoff and Brian Tate on the button.

Tate checked over to Vereschagin who bet and Tate called, leaving just one bet behind.

The final draw saw Tate stand pat against Vereschagin who drew one and Tate bet his last chips, receiving a quick call from Vereschagin.

Oliver Vereschagin: 842A

The eight-four was good for Vereschagin to take down the pot and eliminate Tate from the tournament.

Wagganer Catches Murata's Hand in the Cookie Jar

Yuya Murata opened under the gun and then called when Joseph Wagganer three-bet from the big blind.

Both players took one card and Murata called a bet from Wagganer.

Both drew one again, but this time Murata raised after Wagganer bet, and he called the raise.

On the last draw, Wagganer took one again and Murata stayed pat. Wagganer checked and Murata bet. After some deliberation, Wagganer eventually put in the call.

"Bluff!" declared Murata as he turned over 9422 for a three-card nine. Wagganer revealed 632A for a three-card three and his bluff-catcher was good to take down the pot.
