Dodd Calls for the Hold
Level 25
: 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Richie Allen was in the small blind and raised to 80,000 and Matthew Dodd made the call in the big blind. The flop arrived with A♠9♠K♠ and Allen bet out 80,000 and Dodd called.
The turn 3♣ had Allen bet again for 145,000 and Dodd three-bet all in for 730,000. Allen had to take some time to think about it and in the end he made the call, putting Dodd at risk.
Matthew Dodd: 3♠10♠
Richie Allen: Q♠K♦
Dodd yelled, "Please hold, please hold", and it worked as the 10♣ fell, leaving Dodd with the flush which beat Allen's pair of kings.
