Trips Versus Trips Unlucky for Valdes

Carlos Valdes had to say goodbye to a big portion of his chips in a cooler versus Brownie Garrett.

The board was 1010Q45 and Garrett made it 15,000 on the river into a pot of about 19,500. Valdes called and Garret showed A10 for trip tens with an ace kicker.

Valdes muttered to himself, visibly disappointed, and showed the table J10 for trips with a worse kicker. The pot of 54,000 chips went to Garrett, who now sits on a comfortable stack of 125 big blinds.

Sun With Trips

Jianfeng Sun all the way from Bejing found himself in a big pot when the player in the cutoff raised to 1,800. Sun was on the button and put in a three-bet to 6,100 and received a call.

The flop was 2210 and the player in the cutoff check-raised to 7,500 when Sun placed the flop bet of 3,200. Sun called.

"All in", was announced by the player in the cutoff on the turn J and Sun quickly made the call with the bigger stack.
