A total of 41 players return to the World Series of Poker, Event #16: $5,000 No Limit Hold’em to play down to a final five today at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Play resumes at 1 p.m. in the Horseshoe Events Center, and if yesterday's play is any indication, it is sure to be electrifying.
Leading the way is Shant Marashlian. You may remember Marashlian as the player who pulled the million-dollar bounty in last year’s $1,000 Mystery Millions bounty event. Fortune seems to smile on him as he currently sits with 2,785,000 in chips, about 20 big blinds ahead of second and third place stacks of the Frenchman Anthony Cierco and Mark Tarich from Florida.

Ian Matakis
Yesterday saw plenty of noteworthy moments, including a royal flush for Matthew Davis and the brutal bubble elimination of Martin Stausholm who flopped a flush and was sent packing when Alex Keating went runner-runner to river a full house.

Action heated up on the very first hand of Day 3, as WSOP bracelet winner Darius Samual moved all in under the gun for his remaining 475,000.
Unfortunately, Samual ran into fellow WSOP bracelet winner Moshe Refaelowitz, who three-bet all in to put Samual at risk. The cards were tabled after the rest of the table folded.
Darius Samual: A♠J♦
Moshe Refaelowitz: A♥A♣
The dealer fanned 7♠5♦5♠ on the flop, prompting Samual to stand. The 2♣ hit the turn, and then Q♥ on the river gave Refaelowtiz the win.
Nate Silver opened from under the gun to 50,000 and action folded around to Adi Abugazal in the small blind who raised to 155,000. The big blind got out of the way and Silver shoved all in, covering his opponent's 320,000 stack. Abugazal called quickly and cards were revealed.
Adi Abugazal: K♥K♦
Nate Silver: A♠K♠
The board ran out J♣10♠5♠10♥8♦ for Abugazal's kings to survive and double up through Silver's ace-high.
Taylor Black opened the hijack to 50,000 and Kenny Hallaert three-bet to 180,000 out of the big blind. Black then shipped all in and Hallaert called off his stack of around 800,000.
Kenny Hallaert: A♠Q♣
Taylor Black: A♦K♥
Hallaert needed to find Lady Luck if he wanted to survive, but the board didn't offer any help as the runout of 5♣A♣5♥J♦2♠ kept Black's Big Slick in the lead throughout.
