Whitson Flushes the Competition
Level 11
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Matthew Whitson was in the cutoff when he made a raise to 3,500 and received a call from the big blind. The flop was 10♠A♥5♠, and Whitson made a continuation bet of 3,000 after the big blind checked.
The 8♦ on the turn prompted another bet from Whitson for 12,000 that also received a call.
On the river 8♠, Whitson quickly pushed a big stack into the pot, which covered the big blind, who eventually made the call and flipped over A♣7♦ for top pair, while Whitson held J♠7♠ for the winning flush.
