Day 1d of Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold'em is done and dusted here at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. The fourth and final flight of this monster-sized event drew in another 6,869 entrants, taking the total attendance to 20,647. The WSOP will release official numbers shortly after Day 2 begins.

The chip leader on Day 1d didn't write their name on their overnight chip bag, which is a shame because that bag contains an impressive 2,600,000 chips. [That stack belongs to Travis Egbert.] Bracelet winner Rafael Reis of Brazil did scribble his name in his bag, so we know he heads into Day 2 with 2,000,000 chips at his disposal, enough for ninth place in the Day 1d chip counts.

Reis became a WSOP champion in 2023 after taking down the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed event for a career-best $465,501. There's a long way to go in this event, but it would be silly to write off Reis' chances of becoming a two-time bracelet winner.

Reis is not the only bracelet winner to navigate their way through the treacherous Day 1d waters. Rajaee Wazwaz (1,240,000) punched his Day 2 ticket, as did Quincy Borland (1,040,000), Hassan Kamoei (555,000), and Pei Li (540,000).

On Day 2, the 757 surviving players from all four flights will combine into one field at 11 a.m. on June 10. Those players should be sitting down to Level 23, meaning blinds are 25,000/50,000 with a 50,000 big blind ante. The plan is to complete 17 40-minutes levels. Players will enjoy a 20-minute break every three levels, with an hour-long dinner break penciled in after Level 31, which will be around 5:40 p.m. local time.

Today sees Day 1d and the final flight of Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold'em here at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. This tournament comes with a $3,000,000 GTD prize pool.

So far, the tournament has attracted almost 14,000 entries across the three days. Day 1a attracted a massive field of 3,792 entrants, but only 124 of those starters made it through to Day 2. Caleb Levesque finished the day as the chip leader with a stack of 3,145,000 from a 30,000 starting stack.

However, Day 1d saw Dan Heimiller surpass him and bag 3,875,000 to lead the 155 survivors.

Yesterday's penultimate starting flight saw big names such as Olga Iermolcheva, Barry Greenstein and Shaun Deeb bag big, with 203 players advancing from a Day 1c field of 5,669. That brings the current number of survivors for Day 2 up to 482.

The last starting flight in this event begins at 10 a.m. local time. Late registration is open for 11 levels, and players are allowed to reenter twice per flight. PokerNews traditional coverage of this event starts on Day 2.

On each Day 1 flight, there will be a 20-minute break after every four levels and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 15 (about 6:30 p.m.).

The starting stack is 30,000 chips and all Day 1s will play 22 30-minute levels or down to 15 percent of the field, whichever is later. Payouts start on Day 1 and for the surviving players, Day 2 resumes on Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m.

Last year's event was the very first Gladiators of Poker event and saw a field of 23,088 players generate a prize pool of $5,679,648. The winner was Jason Simon, who defeated Eric Trexler heads up to win a shade under $500,000.

"It was awesome," the first gladiator of poker said. "Having your friends here with you, cheering for you in the all ins, it definitely helps."
