Hellmuth Runs Into the Goods

Level 19 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth limped the small blind and Alex Torry checked his option.

Before the dealer spread the Q54 flop, Hellmuth announced a check-dark. Torry fired out a bet and Hellmuth said, 'let's go' and pushed his stack across the line. Torry wasted no time calling and both hands were tabled.

Phil Hellmuth: 85 All in
Alex Torry: Q4

Hellmuth stood up in disgust as he saw the two pair of Torry. The K turn and the J river were no help as he said good game to the table and headed to the payout desk.

Klassen Has a Jack

Level 19 : Limits 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Yi Klassen raised preflop and was called by Florian Pesce to see a flop of K4J. Pesce checked, Klassen bet, and Pesce called to go to the turn 2.

Pesce then check-called again after a bet from Klassen and the two went to the river 3, where Pesce checked once more.

"Alright, let's see it," Klassen announced as she checked back. Pesce then showed 45 for a pair of fours but it was no good once Klassen tabled J10 for a pair of jacks to take the pot.

The 9 fell on the turn, and Prather led out before Caltabiano raised, and Prather called.

When the 4 completed the board, Prather check-called once more.

Caltabiano rolled KK, and Prather mucked his hand while telling Caltabiano he had a ten.

Robert Wells opened the cutoff and Daniel Vampan three-bet from the small blind. Michael Reed was all-in for his last 35,000 and Wells called.

The flop came AJ6 and Vampan continued with a bet. Wells instantly folded, and both hands were revealed.

Michael Reed: K7 All in
Daniel Vampan: A9

"At least make it a sweat," Pleaded Reed. But unfortunately the 2 turn meant he was drawing dead, and the Q river was just a formality. Reed headed to the payout desk in 17th place.

John Prather was eliminated just moments before at another table, taking home 18th place.

Florian Pesce Eliminated in 16th Place ($7,932)

Level 20 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Florian Pesce
Florian Pesce

The action folded around to Florian Pesce in the small blind and he put in a raise before Benjamin Underwood made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of Q99 and Pesce continued with a bet. Underwood raised and Pesce pushed his remaining 45,000 across the line as both players rolled their hands.

Florian Pesce: A2 All in
Benjamin Underwood: 98

Pesce saw the danger he was in as he stood up and put on his backpack. The A gave him some life as he could hit an ace to double but the 7 river was no help, sending him to the payout desk in 16th place.
