Mercier Pulls Ahead on Third Draw

Phil Ivey opened from the small blind and Jason Mercier defended from the big blind. Ivey drew one while Mercier took two.

After the first draw, Ivey bet and Mercier called. This time, both players drew one.

Ivey bet again after the second draw. Mercier called and drew one while Ivey stood pat.

With no draws remaining, Ivey checked, Mercier bet and Ivey called.

Ivey had a ten-eight with 10x8x7x5x2x but, it was no good against Mercier who had drawn into an eight-seven with 8x7x6x4x3x to take the pot.
