Sternheimer Shows an Eight to Take a Massive Pot

Level 15 : Limits 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Philip Sternheimer raised under the gun and picked up three callers, including Renan Bruschi on the button, Eric Wasserson in the small blind, and big blind Anthony Lazar.

Wasserson drew two, Lazar three, Sternheimer one, and Bruschi two. Sternheimer bet and Bruschi raised.

Wasserson called while Lazar got out of the way. Sternheimer reraised and both Bruschi and Wasserson called.

Wasserson drew two, Bruschi one, and Sternheimer stood pat. Sternheimer then bet and only Bruschi called.

Sternheimer again stood pat and Bruschi drew one. Both players checked and Sternheimer showed 8x7x6x5x2x. Bruschi tossed 7x4x3x2x into the muck as Sternheimer took the big pot.

A hand earlier, Justin Saliba had eliminated Ian Johns with 8x7x6x4x2x. Johns broke a ten as he drew one on the last draw but couldn't catch up as he was sent to the rail.

Abronson Leaves Cummings on Fumes

Level 15 : Limits 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Aaron "AJ" Cummings raised from under the gun, Louis Abronson three-bet from the hijack, Cummings made it four bets, and Abronson called.

Cummings stood pat while Abronson drew two and called a bet.

On the second draw, Abronson took one and called another bet.

Abronson drew again on the final draw. Cummings checked, Abronson bet, and Cummings winced as he called. He got the bad news as his eight-six was outdrawn by Abronson's 7x6x5x4x2x and he was left with just 2,000.

Cummings was eliminated on the following hand.

Wilson Gets Some Value

Level 15 : Limits 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Brian Tate opened from the button and Taylor Wilson called from the small blind, drawing one while Tate drew two.

After the first draw Wilson bet and Tate called. Wilson stood pat and Tate drew one.

Action repeated itself after the second draw with Tate calling a bet from Wilson and drawing one while Wilson stood pat.

With no draws remaining Wilson bet once more and was called by Tate. Wilson tabled 8x6x5x4x2x for an eight-six which was good enough to take the pot.

Zolotow Puts on the Pressure

Level 15 : Limits 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Steve Zolotow opened from under the gun and Juan Lopez three-bet from the cutoff. Zolotow made the call and drew two while Lopez stood pat.

After the first draw Zolotow bet, Lopez raised to two bets and Zolotow called. This time both players stood pat.

Zolotow bet again after the second draw and Lopez opted to muck.

Lopez Picks Off Ivey

Steve Zolotow and Juan Lopez drew two on the first draw, while Phil Ivey took one and bet. Both opponents called.

Zolotow took two again, while Lopez drew one and Ivey stood pat. Ivey then bet, Zolotow folded, and Lopez called.

Ivey patted again and Lopez took one. Ivey bet and Lopez called once more.

"I have a queen," Ivey said as Lopez showed 9x7x5x4x2x to win the pot.

Rheem Eliminates Volpe

Paul Volpe raised from the cutoff and Chino Rheem called in the big blind.

Both players drew two and Rheem check-called a bet from Volpe.

On the second draw, Rheem took one and Volpe stood pat. Volpe bet, Rheem raised, and Volpe called all-in.

Both stood pat on the final draw. Rheem revealed 7x6x5x3x2x for #3 whereas Volpe made an eight and was eliminated.

Johnson Has Glaser Piped by One

Benny Glaser bet the second draw from the big blind and Marco Johnson called in the cutoff.

Glaser stood pat and Johnson drew one. Glaser then bet again.

Johnson called and Glaser showed 8x6x5x4x2x. Johnson, though, had 8x6x5x3x2x to win the pot with his three.

Jason Mercier opened the button, Jerry Wong three-bet from the small blind, Mercier made it four bets, and Wong called.

Wong drew two and Mercier drew one. Wong check-called a bet from Mercier.

On the second draw, Wong took one while Mercier stood pat. Wong check-called another bet.

Wong now stood pat and Mercier decided to break and drew one. The action went check-check and Wong revealed 8x7x5x4x2x to scoop the pot.
