Rocco Enters the Field

Level 1 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Michael Rocco led out from the small blind on a flop of J9K for 1,200, and the player in the big blind made the call.

Rocco bet 3,000 when the 6 appeared on the turn. Once again, his opponent called.

The 3 river saw Rocco lead out for 7,500, only to be met by a raise to 21,000. Rocco then raised all in and his opponent called.

Both players held Qx10x in their hand for the nuts, resulting in an early chop pot.

Lin Sits Down, Wins, and Shows

Level 1 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Ren Lin raised his very first hand of the tournament to 1,100 from the hijack, and was called by Michael Tyler in the cutoff.

The flop fell 444 and Lin fired 600 chips. Tyler quickly mucked, and Lin tabled his cards, none of which were a four.

The first ever Event #37: $10,000 Big O Championship will get underway here at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. This event is new this year and is the first five-card Pot-Limit Omaha 8-or-better Championship the WSOP has ever run.

This four-day event will start at 2 p.m. today. Players will start with 60,000 in chips and will get a 15-minute break every two levels. Day 1 will last for ten blind levels. Blind levels are set at 60-minutes long for all four days of play.

Day 2 resumes at 1 p.m. on June 14. Late registration continues until the end of Level 12, which is expected to be around around 3:15 p.m. on Day 2.

The $1,500 edition of Big O attracted scores of poker superstars to the tables, including Sammy Farha, Nathan Gamble, Jake Schwartz, Frankie O'Dell, Jeff Madsen, Calvin Anderson, and Yuval Bronshtein. Expect the same in this higher buy-in affair.
