In just a few hours, a new player will be crowned as the 2024 World Series of Poker Event #38: $1,500 Monster Stack No-Limit Hold'em champion, winning their first-ever gold bracelet and the $1,098,220 first-place prize. But who will this player be?
Out of a massive field of 8,703 entrants, only seven players successfully reached the final table and then qualified for Day 5. Among these players, the odds-on favorite is Portugal's Pedro Neves. After winning a 90,000,000 chip pot when there were 19 players left, his stack kept growing, and he secured a massive chip lead of 172,200,000. He is followed by Aaron Johnson with 101,000,000, while all the other players have, at most, half of Johnson's stack.

Tim Reilly limped from the button with Q♠10♦. Jerry Maher in the small blind called as well with 2♠2♥, so Pedro Neves in the big blind with 5♣2♣ only had to check his option to discover a flop of 3♣4♣7♣.
Maher checked but Neves with a flush led out for 2,500,000. Both Reilly and Maher folded.
