Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.

In the seventh episode, Connor speaks with World Series of Poker (WSOP) commentator Norman Chad, one of the most recognizable voices in poker who has provided color commentary on poker's biggest stage for over 20 years.

Chad talks about getting his start as a sports writer in college, his decades-long syndicated sports humor column for the Washington Post and being asked to commentate on the 2003 WSOP Main Event that sparked the Poker Boom.

Chad also discusses the state of poker broadcasting today, the need for more color commentary in the booth, and the need for more interesting characters on the felt.

Blom checked the 8♦ turn and Aido bet 1,400,000. Blom instantly check-raised all in for 7,500,000. Aido quickly folded

After Kornuth led out for 700,000 on the 7♦4♣5♠ flop, Blom raised to 2,650,000. Kornuth used a time extension chip before announcing all-in for Blom's remaining 7,500,000. Blom snap-called.

The action was caught on the turn with the board showing J♥6♣7♠5♣. Chance Kornuth had led out for 1,600,000 from the big blind and Sergio Aido made the call.

The river came a board-pairing 7♦ and Kornuth bet 4,200,000. After using a time extension chip, Aido put in the call. Kornuth flipped over Q♦9♠ for queen-high. Aido had 9♦6♦ for the winner.

On the flop of 9♦6♦6♣, Aido checked and Kornuth bet 700,000. Aido then check-raised to 2,600,000 and Kornuth called

The 2♣ turn saw a bet of 5,800,000 from Aido. Kornuth called again.

The river came the 3♥. After using two time extension chips, Aido moved all in for Kornuth's remaining 11,300,000 chips. Kornuth went deep into the tank, using multiple time extensions, before eventually putting in the call.
