Three players checked all the way through a board of J♥10♣J♦6♥ to find the 9♥ river.
The big blind checked and Espen Jorstad under the gun bet 6,000. James Chen to his left raised to 20,000 and made the big blind fold, but Jorstad three-bet to 140,000.
Chen went into the tank, and eventually sent his cards into the muck.
Bill Klein raised to 6,000 from under the gun and Daniel Negreanu three-bet to 15,000 on the button. The blinds folded but Klein called.
A flop of 10♥8♦8♣ saw Klein check-call a bet of 10,000 from Negreanu.
The turn brought a 3♥ and again Klein went into check-call mode after Negreanu fired 28,000.
A third check-call wasn't on the agenda as Klein check-folded the A♥ river when Negreanu bet 75,000.
Joey Weissman opened 5,500 under the gun and only Alex Kulev called from a couple of spots to his left.
The dealer spread a flop of 9♦3♥3♣ and Weissman check-called a bet of 5,500 from Kulev.
When the 7♦ hit the turn, Weissman checked once again before Kulev flung 35,500 across the line. This time Weissman surrendered the pot as his cards hit the muck.
Brandon Steven only had a few chips left in his stack and ended up committing them to the pot preflop from the small blind against Brandon Wilson in middle position.
Brandon Steven: Q♣4♣
Brandon Wilson: A♠7♥
Steven was behind and did not improve on the K♣8♥3♠5♠7♣ runout to hit the rail early on Day 1.
Picking up the action on the river, Chance Kornuth in middle position was involved in a hand with an opponent from under the gun.
With the board reading J♠2♦9♣10♣9♠ and around 90,000 already in the pot, the under the gun player led out for 66,500. Kornuth burned through a time extension before announcing all in, covering his opponent, who had roughly 140,000 behind. The under the gun player went deep into the tank, also using a time extension before eventually making the call holding K♥Q♥.
Kornuth turned over K♦Q♠ and the two players chopped up the pot with the identical straight.
Francisco Benitez opened to 6,000 from the button and he was called by Morten Klein who defended from the big blind.
On a flop of A♠3♠8♣, Benitez continued for 5,000, but Klein didn't back down and called.
After they both checked the 7♦ turn, Klein bet 11,500 on the 6♠ river, prompting Benitez to fold.
A full board of 6♠2♣9♠2♥K♥ was showing and with 40,000 chips in the pot, Nacho Barbero bet 21,000. Tobias Schwecht was in the next seat who called, and the big blind folded.
Barbero tabled 3♠3♣ but Schwecht had the winner with a pair of nines holding 9♥7♥.
Tobias Schwecht limped in from the small blind and called a raise from the big blind to 8,500.
Both players checked the 6♣2♥3♠ flop and Schwecht led out for 15,500 on the 8♠ turn. The big blind quickly folded.
