Mateos Spikes the River to Send Weissman Out

Joey Weissman was already all in preflop form the small blind against Adrian Mateos, who had Weissman covered in the big blind.

Adrian Mateos: J♠J♥

The 6♣K♥7♥ flop vaulted Weissman into the lead with a pair of kings and the 4♠ turn kept him in the lead.

However, the J♣ river gave Mateos a winning set to eliminate Weissman in dramatic fashion.

A large pot was brewing in a hand between Adrian Mateos and Joao Vieira. With about 450,000 in the pot and the flop reading 2♠2♣5♣, Vieira bet 90,000 and Mateos made the call.

The Q♣ turn went check-check, and the river brought the 3♥.

Joao Vieira bet roughly 500,000, leaving 30,000 behind, and Mateos quickly made the call. Mateos showed A♣A♠, while Vieira tabled A♦K♦.

Vieira got his remaining 30,000 in the next hand, but couldn't find a double up and was eliminated.

Aido Flops a Set and Takes Out Boika

Sergio Aido raised from the hijack to 65,000 and Aliaksei Boika three-bet the cutoff to 160,000. When the action got back to Aido, he shoved all in, and Boika snap-called for his stack of around 700,000.

Aido improved to a set on the J♦Q♠6♣ flop but there was still hope for Boika as any ten would complete his Broadway draw.

However, no help arrived for Boika on the later streets as neither the 5♠ turn nor K♣ river was the ten that he was looking for, and he was eliminated.

Bogdanov Turns a Straight to Leave Song Short-Stacked

Stephen Song opened the cutoff to 60,000 and Yulian Bogdanov three-bet to 210,000 out of the small blind. Song called.

They saw a flop of 6♣8♦5♥ which Bogdanov checked, Song bet 100,000, and Bogdanov called.

A 7♦ fell on the turn and again Bogdanov went into check-call mode once Song bet 140,000.

When the 3♠ completed the board, Bogdanov checked for a third time and Song shoved. Bogdanov had 385,000 chips behind and snap-called.

Song tabled K♣Q♣ but Bogdanov had turned a straight holding K♥9♥.

Blom’s Stack Soars After Double KO

Martin Kabrhel, Viktor Blom, and one other player were all in preflop with Blom covering both players.

Kabrhel looked in good shape to triple up, but the K♦6♣K♠ flop vaulted Blom into the lead with trip kings with an ace kicker.

The 9♠ turn and 4♣ river changed nothing and Blom scooped the large pot while eliminating two players.

“That was sick,” Eric Wasserson added as Blom collected the pot.

Kabrhel was seen re-entering shortly after being eliminated.

Sturm Hits Runner-Runner to Bust Shorr

Action picked up on the flop in a hand between Leon Sturm and Shannon Shorr.

With about 90,000 in the pot and the board reading Q♠9♥3♠, Shorr check-called a bet of 61,000 from Sturm.

The 4♥ turn went check-check, and on the 2♦ river, Shorr led out with a bet of 185,000. Sturm then raised to 630,000, putting Shorr all in for a little less.

After using several time bank cards, Shorr made the call and saw the bad news when Sturm tabled 6♥5♥, having hit a backdoor straight.

Kabrhel check-called a 24,000 bet from Blom on the Q♦5♥4♦ flop and then led out for 29,000 on the 5♦ turn. Blom called.

The 2♠ completed the board and Kabrhel checked, prompting a 180,000 bet from Blom. Kabrhel went deep into the tank, but eventually folded.

“Viktor, did you bluff me?” Kabrhel inquired. No response.

“Don’t bluff me again Viktor.”
