Negreanu Grinding the Short Stack

Level 13 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Daniel Negreanu opened to 60,000 from early position before Seth Davies three-bet to 180,000 in the cutoff. Action folded back around to Negreanu who went deep into the tank as he considered a decision that would very likely be for his tournament life. After burning through one time extension, he folded to leave himself grinding a short stack near the money bubble.

Level 13 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

Sergio Aido raised from the hijack to 65,000 and Aliaksei Boika three-bet the cutoff to 160,000. When the action got back to Aido, he shoved all in, and Boika snap-called for his stack of around 700,000.

Aliaksei Boika: AK All in
Sergio Aido: QQ

Aido improved to a set on the JQ6 flop but there was still hope for Boika as any ten would complete his Broadway draw.

However, no help arrived for Boika on the later streets as neither the 5 turn nor K river was the ten that he was looking for, and he was eliminated.

The Q turn went check-check, and the river brought the 3.

Joao Vieira bet roughly 500,000, leaving 30,000 behind, and Mateos quickly made the call. Mateos showed AA, while Vieira tabled AK.

Vieira got his remaining 30,000 in the next hand, but couldn't find a double up and was eliminated.

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Michael Moncek from under the gun had Daniel Negreanu in the cutoff all in and at risk.

Daniel Negreanu: 88 All in
Michael Moncek: A10

Negreanu would need to win a flip to double and survive but could not do so as the board ran out A7449 to pair up Moncek and leave the Canadian superstar hitting the exit short of the money.
