Ivey Gets None

Level 9

Omaha Hi-Lo

Phil Ivey opened from under the gun and was called by a player in the cutoff as well as Jason Papastavrou in the small blind.

Papastavrou checked following the 10610 flop and Ivey led out. The cutoff player called while Papastavrou got out of the way.

Ivey bet again on the J turn. The cutoff once again flatted.

Both players checked to showdown after the river came J. The cutoff tabled AKQ3, which was good enough to take down the pot.

Tryba Quarters Baker

Level 9

Omaha Hi-Lo

Chris Tryba raised first-to-act and was called by David "ODB" Baker in the small blind and Bryce Yockey in the big blind.

Baker and Yockey check-called bets from Tryba on the 1048 flop and 6 turn and Tryba bet again on the 8 river. This time only Baker called and Tryba turned over A1072 for tens-up and the nut low.

Baker held A2 to tie the low, but lost on the high to give the lion’s share of the pot to Tryba.

Seven Card Stud

Daniel Negreanu: QJ/10x72Q/5
Opponent: AJ/4Q9Q/3

Daniel Negreanu was seen exiting the tournament area late on Day 1. He had been eliminated in a hand of seven card stud holding a pair of queens with a jack kicker against his opponent's pair of queens with an ace kicker.

Given the freezeout nature of this event, Negreanu will have to wait until next year to take another shot at victory.
