Stokes Gets Counterfeited

Level 4 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

With a completed board of 86244, Shaneil Stokes checked from the big blind to Chance Kornuth in the cutoff. Kornuth fired 100,000 chips into the pot of 140,000 and received an instant call.

Kornuth tabled 1010 for two pair, tens and fours. Stokes triumphantly tabled 86 before quickly realizing that his flopped two pair was no longer good as Kornuth dragged in the pot.

Kornuth Put in the Blender

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Andrew Lichtenberger opened to 10,000 from early position before Shaneil Stokes three-bet to 24,000 on the button. Chance Kornuth cold called in the big blind while Lichtenberger also came along for the ride.

Action checked to Stokes on the 438 flop and he continued for 30,000. Kornuth called while Lichtenberger got out of the way.

Kornuth led out 35,000 on the 6 turn but Stokes was not going anywhere, instead making the call.

The 8 river paired the board and saw Kornuth slow down, checking to Stokes, who bet 75,000. Kornuth took a long time to make a decision, burning through two time banks before opting to lay down his hand.

Haxton Pays Off Brewer

Level 3 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Picking up the action on the river, Isaac Haxton in the big blind was involved in a hand with Chris Brewer in early position.

With the board reading 789AA Haxton checked to Brewer, who bet 150,000 into a pot of around 125,000.

Haxton went deep into the tank as he sat back in his chair with his arms behind his head, seemingly pained by the decision at hand. After much hemming and hawing, Haxton eventually made the call but mucked when Brewer tabled J10 for a straight to take a big bite out of Haxton's stack. Brewer, meanwhile, has enjoyed a hot start to the tournament that has seen his stack increase by more than 50% in the first two and a half levels.

Yang Wang raised to 10,000 in middle position before Masashi Oya three-bet to 30,000 in the hijack.
