Spencer Bets Thinly

Level 2 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Isaac Haxton raised to 7,000 in the hijack and was called by Lewis Spencer in the big blind. Haxton then continued for 15,000 on the QK10 flop and Spencer check-called.

On the 6 turn, both players checked before Spencer threw in 12,000 on the 7 river.

Haxton weighed his options for a bit but eventually tossed in a call. Spencer tabled K7 for two pair and raked in the pot when Haxton mucked his cards.

"You had a thin-value-betting face on," tablemate Daniel Negreanu told Spencer.

"What gave it away? The fact that I bet 25 percent of the pot?" Spencer asked rhetorically.

Davies Tricks Kisacikoglu

Level 2 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Orpen Kisacikoglu opened to 9,000 on the button and Seth Davies defended in the big blind.

Action checked through the J76 flop to the board pairing J turn at which point Davies led out for 7,000. Kisacikoglu made the call to see a river.

The river came 9, prompting Davies to check to Kisacikoglu, who, after some hesitation, checked back. Davies tabled K6, good enough to take down the pot as Kisacikoglu told Davies "I thought you had a seven, you tricked me!"

Vieira Piles On Jaffe

Level 1 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Jonathan Jaffe had three-bet an earlier open to 22,000 in the hijack before Joao Vieira made it 54,000 to go on the button. The original raiser folded before Jaffe put in a call.

Jaffe then checked to Vieira on the J75 flop before calling his bet of 30,000 chips.

Vieira sized up to 120,000 on the 4 turn, and this time Jaffe decided to check-fold

Brewer Correctly Calls Mateos in Huge Pot

Level 1 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Picking up the action on the turn, Chris Brewer in middle position was involved in a hand with Adrian Mateos on the button.

With the board reading K105J Brewer checked to Mateos, who bet out 55,000. After some time, Brewer called.

Brewer checked again following the 2 river. Mateos, unwilling to go to a cheap showdown, pushed 155,000 across the betting line, representing roughly a pot sized bet. That sent Brewer into the tank as he considered a decision for a significant number of chips early in the day. Eventually, he decided his hand was too strong to lay down and tossed in a calling chip holding K10 for two pair. Mateos could only muster QJ for a pair of jacks with blockers to broadway to send the massive pot over to Brewer.
