Dylan Linde was short-stacked at the start of this hand and was all in preflop, then on a flop of 3♣2♦2♣ Moses Saquing moved all in for around 65,000 and James Chen (US) made the call to put him at risk.
Dylan Linde: A♠K♥9♠8♣
Moses Saquing K♦K♣5♥3♦
James Chen (US): 7♥6♠4♠3♠
The J♦ turn and 7♠ river meant Linde had been eliminated and Saquing had almost tripled up with his kings.
Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the eighth episode, Connor speaks with legendary UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer in an exclusive in-depth interview after Buffer's deep run in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) $50,000 High Roller. Buffer, a longtime poker player, finished in eighth place for a career-best $212,423 after kicking off Day 3 with his trademark "it's time" introduction.
Buffer talked about finding his long-lost half-brother, Michael Buffer, and becoming his manager, the early days of the UFC, the similarities between poker and martial arts, his relationships with Joe Rogan and Dana White, playing poker with Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio and the time he injured himself in a poker tournament before announcing the biggest UFC fight in history.
This interview was filmed at the 2024 WSOP inside Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
Christopher Frank opened 12,000 in early position before Daniel Blum three-bet 40,000 from the button. Frank made the call.
The dealer spread a flop of 7♠3♦2♦ and Frank fired 110,000 across the line. Blum thought about it for about 30 seconds before dropping a call across the line.
When the 7♥ hit the turn, Frank announced pot and Blum shrugged as he called off his stack of about 150,000.
Daniel Blum: K♥K♦Q♣9♣
Christopher Frank: Q♦7♦6♠5♥
Frank turned trips with a straight and flush draw. The 8♣ river changed nothing as Blum exited the table.
Jacob Thibodeau opened to 25,000 from middle position and received calls from Shaun Deeb in the small blind and Jay Harwood in the big blind.
All three players checked the K♠3♥6♦ flop leading to the 3♣ turn. Deeb checked, Harwood bet 28,000, Thibodeau called and Deeb folded.
On the Q♥ river Harwood bet 141,000. Thibodeau moved all in, covering Harwood who had about 450,000 behind. Harwood opted to fold and Thibodeau took the pot without showdown.
