Richards Makes the Wrong Call

Level 40 : Blinds 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

Carson Richards raised to 4,200,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Christopher Castellan, who decided to defend his big blind.

They both checked through the Q48 on the flop to the 2 on the turn. Castellan fired out a bet of 5,500,000 for Richards to call.

The river completed the board with the K and Castellan continued with a bet of 15,000,000. Richards considered it for a bit and made the call, but mucked when Castellan revealed the KJ for top pair.

Li Flops a Boat to Double Up

Level 40 : Blinds 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

Amir Mirrasouli limped from early position and when the action got to Pei Li in the small blind, he shoved all in for 14,000,000. Mirrasouli made the call.

Pei Li: 88 All in
Amir Mirrasouli: A6

Li had to be relieved to see a 899 flop, which improved him to a full house and put him in prime position to score a double-up. No miracle runner-runner occured for Mirrasouli and the 3 turn and A river meant Li doubled up.

Eugene Tito raised to 4,500,000 from the button and Mircea Ionescu defended his big blind.

The flop came J74, Ionescu checked for Tito to bet out 5,000,000. Ionescu responded with a shove for 25,000,000 for Tito to jump into the tank. He got up from his chair, considered his options and then flicked in the chip for the call with the bigger stack.

Mircea Ionescu: 85 All in
Eugene Tito: QJ

"Yes, picture cards!" Tito exclaimed when he saw Ionescu's hand.

The rest of the board was completed with the 4 on the turn and the A on the river to keep Tito ahead and claim Ionescu's bounty. Ionescu kept sitting at the table for a while and then reluctantly made his way to the payout desk.

Mizzell Stays Alive and Triples Up

Level 41 : Blinds 1,250,000/2,500,000, 2,500,000 ante

Amir Mirrasouli raised to 6,000,000 from the middle position for Kyle Mizell to call for his last 5,125,000 from the hijack. Jake Brown asked how much the raise was and then called too from the big blind.

"I'll check in the dark," Brown commented for Mirrasouli to respond that he was going to do the same.

The dealer spread the 6AJ out on the flop and the 9 on the turn. They both checked again to see the 7 complete the board on the river. They both didn't bet for them to all reveal their cards.

Mirrasouli showed the QJ for the pair of jacks but Mizell held the A10 for top pair which was enough to beat Mirrasouli's jacks and the pocket fives Brown had.
